Soak Up Japanese Culture in a Ryokan

I've heard you've never truly experienced Japan until you've experienced a ryokan. And while these traditional Japanese accommodations can be found all over the country, you won't find them any where else in the world. There's a whole art and etiquette to staying in these guesthouses, some with histories hundreds of years old. A "standard" ryokan might be the least expensive option, but it's a no-frills way of spending the night.
